Castricum aan Zee
De Hoop Heritage Park is just under fifteen minutes by car from the beach at Castricum aan Zee. This beach can also be easily reached by bike: you can cycle to it in about 35 minutes from De Hoop. There is paid parking and some e-car charging points at Castricum aan Zee. You can also cycle to the ‘Stille Strand’ (quiet beach) of Castricum, where you can enjoy the sounds of the waves and the wind.
Wijk aan Zee
The beach at Wijk aan Zee is also easily reached from De Hoop Heritage Park. In addition to being the widest beach in the Netherlands, Wijk aan Zee is also known as one of the better surfing spots on the North Sea. There is free parking outside of Wijk aan Zee town centre. Cycling to Wijk aan Zee takes about 45 minutes, and by car it’s just 20 minutes.
Egmond aan Zee
Egmond aan Zee is a little further away than Castricum and Wijk aan Zee, but definitely worth checking out. Driving there takes 25 minutes, and by bike it’s a good 50 minutes. Between March and October, parking fees apply in Egmond aan Zee. As well as a fine beach, Egmond aan Zee also has a charming village centre with many restaurants and delightful shops.
